I’ve had the privilege of meeting Chance Bennett at a couple of his shows down here in Champaign-Urbana and from the first time I did, I could tell that he was going to be big. He told me about his plans for a March Madness tour with fellow Chicago band Kids These Days and about his new project Acid Rap, which he thought was going to be pretty big. After talking to Chance, it became apparent that he really did believe in his vision, and after today, anyone who doesn’t needs a desperate reality check.

Ladies and gentlemen…the moment is finally here. Acid Rap, the sophomore mixtape from Chicago’s favorite up-and-coming star Chance The Rapper, is finally available for download. It’s been a pleasure watching Chance grow as an artist and to see his opportunities rapidly expand is something that is truly both inspiring and jaw-dropping. From a tour with Childish Gambino to selling out the Metro in Chicago to working with Skrillex, Chance’s journey is one that’s made all Chicago hip-hop fans proud. Acid Rap, which features the likes of Childish Gambino, Ab-Soul, Vic Mensa, Twista, Action Bronson, and many more, presents 13 tracks of hard work and quintessential Chicago hip-hop. If my predictions serve correctly, the kid from Chatham who got suspended for toking outside of school (see 10 Day) will soon be one of the biggest household names in hip-hop. Download and stream the tape below and check out his videos for “Good Ass Intro” and “Juice”; I promise you won’t regret it. #Savemoney.
