Champaign-Urbana’s annual music fest, Pygmalion Music Festival, usually sticks purely to indie rock music. This year, however, the festival seems to be diversifying just like the tastes of the average music lover. Along with a ton of local favorites and indie staples (The Head and the Heart, Youth Lagoon, Foxygen, etc.), the festival actually features a couple of UPC favorites: Chance the Rapper and Major Lazer. This step into hip-hop/EDM signals a huge step for Pygmalion, and hopefully it is as successful as I think it can be. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, May 7th and the festival runs September 26-28 at various venues in the Champaign-Urbana area. You can pick up your full festival passes for $70 and view the full extent of the lineup that has been announced here.  You can check out Chance’s Acid Rap here for a preview of what you might see at his show.
