In 2012, Killer Mike and El-P surprised many with the highly touted and critically acclaimed releases of Killer Mike’s R.A.P. Music (produced by El-P) and El-P’s Cancer 4 Cure. Both albums presented a controlled recklessness to contemporary gangster rap reminiscent of circa 1990 Ice Cube, refreshing for many listeners unaware or not alive during the onset of the genre. Propelling into 2013, the two emcees have now come together under Fools Gold Records to release a collaborative EP entitled Run The Jewels.

Run The Jewels is a 10-track collection showcasing singles such as “Get It” and “Banana Clipper” featuring Outkast‘s Big Boi. Additional verses are included from Gravediggaz‘ member Prince Paul and Until the Ribbon Break, rounding out a tough and hard-hitting free release. Download this must-listen project here. Also available via the download link are official CD and Vinyl versions with merchandise and dates for their upcoming tour.
