A few weekends ago I had the opportunity to travel down to the DMV for the one and only Trillectro Music Festival. This was the second year that the beautiful city of Washington, DC got to play host to this unique musical event which combines electronic and hip-hop music unlike any other festival today. Mixing the best up & comers of both worlds, this years bill boasted the likes of Wale, Carnage, Salva, King Chip, Casey Veggies, Travi$ Scott, A$AP Ferg, Tittsworth, and many more.

The all-day festival kicked off around noon with people trickling in throughout the late afternoon. In addition to the two performance stages, attendees (numbering around 15,000, with people traveling from all over the country) got to explore the festival area which had a number of vendors selling both food/drinks and streetwear merchandise. At around 6pm the main stage really started to ignite, with an electrifying performance from Travi$ Scott. The hometown crowd went crazy for their local icon Wale who also brought out Fat Trel, however there’s no arguing that A$AP Ferg stole the show. With support from the A$AP Mob, including A$AP Rocky, Fergenstein had the people in a frenzy after storming the stage to perform “Shabba” and “Work (Remix).” The night closed out with a set from DJ Carnage who gave partygoers a reason to stay up until the very end.

Overall this years Trillectro managed to successfully capture the essence of two different genres and house it as one, with a promising future which suggests that it’ll continue to grow exponentially. Big thanks to Modi, Quinn, and the rest of the DCtoBC team for making it an incredible experience for all festival-goers this year.
