When’s the last time you turned down multiple billions of dollars?  Yesterday it was made public via The Wall Street Journal that the owners of the popular picture-sharing app Snapchat were offered at least $3 billion from social network giant Facebook in an apparent move to acquire the app which is exploding in popularity.

Though personally I don’t use the app (mostly because I’m not a junior-high aged girl), this amount of money being exchanged for something, especially in the tech industry, is massive news. Snapchat rejected Facebook’s offer, which must have been difficult considering the sheer amount of money that was offered, but also may have been a good move due to Facebook’s declining popularity. It’ll certainly be interesting to see where Snapchat goes from here. Until then, you can catch me sending regular photo messages like a lame, and the owners of Snapchat and Facebook on a yacht somewhere.
