It seemed like you couldn’t go anywhere in 2013 without hearing Rich Homie Quan‘s smash hit “Type of Way.” After dominating airwaves and house parties across the nation after its summer release, the song became a staple of Michigan State football by becoming the squad’s go-to celebration track. Whether or not you enjoy seeing the Spartans win (most of our readers are die-hard Illini fans), if you’re a hip-hop fan you’ve got to appreciate 57-year-old MSU head coach Mark Dantonio getting down to one of the year’s biggest rap records.

MSU’s and Rich Homie’s mutual fandom reached its pinnacle last night at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. The Atlanta rapper attended the MSU-Stanford matchup, sporting Spartan green and cheering on his new favorite team. After State stopped the Cardinal on 4th-and-1 to seal a hard-fought victory, Rich Homie Quan joined the Spartans in the locker room and celebrated the win to the tune of the Yung Carter-produced banger. Watch below as Dantonio give shouts to Rich Homie in a post-game interview, and scroll down further for video evidence of the RHQ x MSU locker room turn-up.
