nike-mag-sketch-boardIn 2011, Nike came out with the Air Mags, the same shoe that Marty McFly donned in Back To The Future II. However, those kicks lacked one key feature: self-tying, power laces that accompanied Michael J. Fox’s sneakers in the film. According to a report from Sole Collector, the future of footwear technology is now upon us. Nike designer Tinker Hatfield appeared at Jordan Brand’s Flight Lab in New Orleans yesterday and made it clear that we will see power laces in 2015. What’s so special about the year 2015? It just so happens to be the same year that McFly wore his Air Mags in the movie. It’s unknown whether the power laces will accompany the Air Mags in 2015 or if they will be featured on an entirely new product. Either way, this is exciting news for sneakerheads and movie aficionados alike.
