BilKEydCAAAad44Young Thug has quickly ascended in the game thanks to a unique combination of voice inflection and flow. The 21-year-old signed to 1017 Brick Squad in 2013 and made giant waves with the release of “Stoner” and “Danny Glover.” Recent releases such as “Geek’d Up” and “Hot Boys” serve as evidence that Thugga Thugga is far from a two-hit wonder and is here to stay. He often cites Lil Wayne as one of his influences, and the comparison is hard to ignore; Thug’s raspy voice is eerily similar to Weezy’s. The Atlanta native took his appreciation for Wayne to the next level this week by announcing that his next project will be called The Carter VI.

Whether or not he was joking about the album title, it might not be so far-fetched to think that Thug can successfully continue Tunechi’s run once he steps away from the mic. Until that day comes, there is still a constant flow of new music coming out of Thug’s camp. Today, he delivers an ill remix to Drake‘s popular record, “The Language.” Producer Metro Boomin flips the beat in a way that suits Thug’s cadence perfectly. If this one doesn’t have you bobbing your head in the whip, I’m not sure what will. Listen to/download “The Blanguage” below via SoundCloud and let us know if you prefer this version over Drizzy’s.
