For our latest Campus Series installment, and first Campus Requisites feature, we went ahead and checked out what UPC member Eli S. regards as his essentials to life in Champaign-Urbana. Eli, who hails from the good ‘ol DMV, ventured out here to the Midwest to pursue a degree in Journalism. When Eli isn’t reading things like The Rose that Grew from Concrete by Tupac Shakur and SLAM KICKS: JORDANS Vol. 1, working towards his future Pulitzer Prize, he’s running up and down the main courts at the ARC and making sure UPC is poppin’ with all the latest news for our readers.

From his Leaders1354 tee, the I’m Shmacked x University of Illinois tee, to his socks, Eli’s style is on point. He shows nothing but love for the DMV and you can tell that right away when he’s boozing, as he likes to keep his drinks cold with his Redskins coozie. If you ever catch Eli on campus, you’ll see him rocking his Mitchell & Ness Washington Bullets cap or his red Beats By Dre Solo Headphones, probably bumping Lil Durk. Take a look below and see what Eli had to say about his requisites.

I’m Shmacked x University of Illinois Tee: “Remember Unofficial 2013? Yeah, me neither. Luckily, I copped this little keepsake from I’m Shmacked‘s visit. A must-have for any U of I student.”

The Rose that Grew from Concrete by Tupac Shakur: “Pac’s poetry.”

Redskins Coozie: “Diehard ‘Skins fan. Perfect for a nice, cold beverage.”

Stance Dennis Rodman Socks: “Before specializing in international diplomacy, The Worm was a damn good basketball player for the Bulls. The geniuses at Stance decided to put his picture on a pair of comfortable socks. Sold.”

Mitchell & Ness Washington Bullets Cap: “I’ve been a proud supporter of Washington’s basketball team my entire life, but even I know how whack the name ‘Wizards’ is. That’s why I prefer to rock Bullets gear whenever I step out.”

UPC Sticker: “Self-explanatory. Cop yours here.

Beats By Dre Solo Headphones: “I don’t leave my building without these.”

Old Spice Swagger Deodorant: You gotta, you gotta, you gotta be fresh.

Twizzlers: “Growing up, I would visit my grandparents in Hyde Park and they’d have Twizzlers on deck. Containers on containers of ’em. The best (non-chocolate) candy out there. No discussions.”

Leaders1354 Tee: Fresh gear in the city. ‘Lead Never Follow’ is a motto that I think everyone should carry into their day-to-day lives.”

SLAM KICKS: JORDANS Vol. 1: “When I’m not reading for school, I’m usually checking out the latest SLAM Magazine. This one’s a special issue on Air Jordans I-VI.”

Jordan XI Bred: “Prized possession. Step on ’em and get murked.”

University of Illinois Notebook: “Dean’s list, son.”
