However, it would be remiss not to mention Troy Ave‘s New York City mixtape in the conversation for best of ’13. Unlike Acid Rap and Blue Chips 2, New York City isn’t special because of its boundary pushing; no, in fact, it’s well worth a listen for the exact opposite reason. The Brooklyn native is bringing back the classic New York, d-boy sound that we haven’t seen from many up-and-comers as of late.
