XXL-Freshmen-2014-450x600XXL Magazine‘s staff unveiled its annual list of freshman artists yesterday, a group that will be included in the May/June issue of the magazine. It should come as no surprise that rappers such as Chance the Rapper, Rich Homie Quan, and Isiah Rashad each earned spots in the “Dirty Dozen.” It’s also great to see Chicago artists dominate this year’s list, with four of the twelve emcees (Chance, Vic Mensa, Lil Bibby, Lil Durk) coming from the South Side. Included below is the full list. Who was snubbed? Who shouldn’t have made it? How do the 2014 Freshman stack up against past classes? Should hip-hop even care? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
