Tensions have been high in the United States, and we’ve seen the best and worst of racial relations over the last three months. However, many musicians are taking action in their own way to make a difference. Everyone from J. Cole to Macklemore has been out protesting with the people, and many have made poignant statements concerning the state of America at their live shows.

Some of the most powerful work, though, comes from the raw passion and emotion of music. Collaborating on the soundtrack for Selma, a film depicting the racial struggles for African Americans during the 1960’s, John Legend and Common come together for “Glory.” Like the film, Legend delivers a motivational and powerful performance with Common Sense doing what he does best – giving us urgent, socially aware commentary.
