IMG_2443It’s been a while since our last installment of campus requisites, but we’re indeed back to introduce you to new UPC writer, Matt M. This UIUC senior hails from the western ‘burbs of Chicago. He’s a longtime metal-head turned rap fanatic. You can catch Matt rocking his Vans, Robert Geller jeans and Club Monaco backpack daily in his economic classes.

Matt’s passions include basketball, fashion, music and candy. This guy will finish two cans of Dr. Pepper, eat a package of Sweet Tarts then proceed to drain 25-footers in your grill at the ARC. When he’s not hooping, Matt is out enjoying the Champaign nightlife, requesting “Jumpman” at your favorite bar. When he’s at home, Matt likes to listen to Travi$ Scott, Frank Ocean and Playboi Carti — or he might throw it back to his roots and blast System of a Down so loud the neighbors can hear.

iPhone 5S and Skullcandy Headphones: “Anywhere I go, I’m listening to music on my phone.”

Club Monaco Backpack: “I’m in college. How else am I supposed to carry my s*** to class? Plus, I think I looks dope.”

John Elliot Hooded Villain Sweatshirt: “I love this brand’s sweatshirts. Great fit and quality. I have a few, and I wear them all the time.”

Robert Geller Jeans: “I’ve never found better-fitting jeans. I probably wear them 4-5 times a week. They’re from 2011, so I have yet to find another pair, but if anyone knows of another color of these — or even this color again — in a 30 waist, let me know.”

All Saints Flight Jacket: “Another one of those things I wear all the time. It’s cold most of the year in Illinois, and this is the perfect jacket. I can wear it with a t-shirt in the fall and layer a sweatshirt under it for winter. It goes with everything I own.”

Vans Sk8 Hi: “I don’t care how dirty they get because I can wash them or grab a new pair, because they’re only about $60. I wear them 24/7.”

Toshiba Laptop: “I’ve always been a PC person, so I stuck with the brand through college.”

Dr. Pepper: “If you see me around campus, you will probably see me with a Dr. Pepper in my hand. I know it’s bad for you, but everyone has their vices, right?”

Brooks Brothers Boots: “These are my dress-up option. I love the slim and pointed silhouette of the boot. Plus, they have lasted the test of time. I think I’ve had the bottoms replaced three times. I have a hard time finding any other boots, because they never compare to these.”

Assorted Candy: “Candy tastes good.”
