Have you heard of Daniel Caesar yet? Probably not. The 19-year-old singer/songwriter based out of Toronto only has around 3,000 followers on both Facebook and Twitter, although those numbers seem sure to change.

A few weeks ago, Caesar dropped his sophomore release Pilgrim’s Paradise, and the seven-track project packs a harmonic punch. The album mixes sounds of soul, rock and R&B to create a refreshing vibe while maintaining a smooth continuum from track to track.

Two songs definitely worth checking out are “Paradise” featuring BADBADNOTGOOD and Sean Leon and “Streetcar.” Both songs showcase Caesar’s versatility. In “Paradise,” Caesar exhibits a hip-hop aesthetic similar to that of Frank Ocean in Channel Orange, while in “Streetcar,” Caesar takes on a more vocally focused recreation of Kanye West’s “Streetlights” from 808’s & Heartbreak.

Stay on the look-out for more content from this rising artist, but for now, check out Pilgrim’s Paradise here:
