Back in May of 2014, Taylor Bennett performed at Champaign’s annual ILLrock Block Party, days before he released his first mixtape, Mainstream Music. Almost two years later, it’s safe to say Taylor is back stronger than ever, releasing his first album Broad Shoulders. After giving it an initial listen, you can really tell that he took his time with this by honing his craft and working closely with friend and Detroit-based producer Ludlow.

Taylor means business, taking the independent route with this release and making the album sample free. He even had the very talented Hebru Brantley bless the cover art for the album. Broad Shoulders sports features from his big brother Chance The RapperKing LouieJoey PurpDonnie Trumpet, and more. Check out the album over at Rolling Stone and be sure to keep an eye out on what Taylor has in store for us next!
